Ashbrook Alumni ASSOCIATION

During the fall of 2015, alumnae Stacy U'Ren Wray and Leesa Hedges McKeon from the Class of 1975 were working on their 40th class reunion and became engaged in conversations about the needs at Ashbrook, and the notion of creating the Ashbrook Foundation took root.

Word spread about an open meeting in July of 2016, and many interested alumni gathered to hear more information. After that meeting, the Ashbrook Foundation, Inc. was formed as a 501(c)3 nonprofit charity. 

In October of 2017, the Ashbrook Foundation board unanimously approved a three-year strategic plan to increase awareness, build annual fundraising vehicles, develop scholarship and grant programs, and provide board development. 

Like most educational foundations, alumni associations seek to engage with alumni, donors, fans, and friends of schools. The shared mission and opportunities to advance Ashbrook in a more strategic way led to a merger of the two groups — a growing trend at public institutions across the country. So in March 2018, the Ashbrook Foundation Board of Directors voted to combine the Foundation and the Alumni Association in order to strengthen Ashbrook’s relationship with its many alumni.
